Grape Article Link
This new article written by Claire Moses and Segolene Le Stradic published on The New York Times covers the story of an early harvest. This article focuses on how the grapes that are used to make wine have harvested early due to the changing weather patterns. I think this article can be used for prompting research on climate change and it gives viewers an example of how fragile food harvesting is. There was not too many pictures which may have been helpful. I liked how the article gave farmers life a spotlight, especially issues surrounding climate change and politics like Trump’s tariffs. These insights are needed for those who may wonder about increasing prices. It’s definitely a smaller article and not breaking news, and everyone does not need to know, however it is very relevant in today's societal climate. The article uses an informative tone and proper english grammar which adds to its credibility. The beginning sentence was not anything special but the title “We’ve Never Seen Anything Like It’: Early Harvest Rattles France’s Wine Industry” was an eye catcher. The article provides what, why and where details in their article. It is an appropriate length and I know its credible because the authors are listed and they include their sources.
While reviewing this article i realized the power of credible news outlets and how they are trusted.I came to the conclusion that the reason why certain journalist are able to have their work lack sources that others cannot is because of their platform given. While the bare minimum is still needed they do not go out of their way to make their reader's trust them because they know they do not have to.
